Dear Ones,
If you are having a look at this blog, you are dear to us. It would be too much to try to fill you in on all that has happened since our last post since so much time has flown by...so I will just let you know what everyone in the family is up to now.
Dale and Connie are now "Empty Nesters". Dale has been working for McMurray Stern for 30 years now. He has made the drive into Santa Fe Springs for the last 24 years, except for the time during the beginning of the pandemic when he was able to work from home. Connie also taught from home for the end of the 2019-2020 school year and for most of the 2020-2021 school year. This school year is "in person" with everyone wearing masks.
In November of 2020, Dale's father, Bryant Bennett, moved in with us. We had the honor of caring for him for 8 months. He was 93 years old when he passed away in July of 2021. Connie's mother, Pat Brown, moved from Downey to a home here in Corona, about 1/2 a mile uphill from us. She moved in 2 weeks before everything shut down in March of 2020. In June of 2021, she severely broke her ankle. This led to 2 surgeries, a 2 month stay in a Board and Care, and she is now back home with in home caregivers. After 5 months, she is now able to stand and walk a few steps with a walker. It has been a long process.
Meshell and Ben are still living in Alaska. Ben is in the army, stationed in Anchorage. At the beginning of the pandemic, Meshell suffered a stroke, leaving her with difficulty speaking and walking. She rocked her physical therapy and is doing much better. She is still working on her small motor skills. They got a wonderful surprise when they found they were expecting a new wee one. Everett William was born on December 13, 2021. His sisters, Cozette, Shyanne, and Brielle are excited to have a brother. Ben is excited to finally not be the only boy in the house.
Jerimie and Riyan live in Utah. They are also expecting a new addition to their family...Penelope is due to join her brothers, Max and Levi, in March of 2022. Jerimie just got a new job, setting up security cameras and systems for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Clint and Jen live in Menifee, CA. Clint is still working in home insurance, handling large losses. He has had to travel quite often for work. Jen works in a law office. The kids, Ryker, Fynnley, and Zoey, keep them busy.
Nick and Aimee live in San Jacinto, CA. Nick works doing accounting work. He started working from home during the pandemic and they have allowed him to continue to do that. Aimee is homeschooling the boys, Lincoln and Weston.
Chelsea taught from home for the whole school year 2020-2021 but is back "in person" for this school year. She took a position at a different elementary school this year. She still teaches 4th grade in Moreno Valley, CA. She also moved into her first apartment in order to be closer to work.
Beau is living and going to school in Rexburg, ID. He still is pursuing his interest and ability in art. He is quite talented. He has been dating a lovely girl named Jillian.
